Meppel centre

Typical houses that can be found in the centre of Meppel. This is the Grote Kerkstraat.

  2. Fascinating. It appears that the lower levels and the upper levels are living areas. This arrangement was/is common in some of our larger cities, and often the owners of the businesses live above their shops.

  5. Hi again, Marleen. Re your comment on Ocala: This is an anhinga, which is closely related to the cormorant. The differences are minor but I can't remember them now. I don't think we have very many cormorants down this far south.
