New blackberries

During our hike yesterday we were surprised to see so many blackberry bushes carrying new, though still red and unripe, fruit. August is our "blackberry month" and I guess because September in the Netherlands has been so unusually warm, dry and sunny, new blackberries have grown. Autumn seems hesitant to arrive..

I'm linking to Seasons.

  1. Your September has been unusually warm and ours unusually cold Marleen, the weather is definitely changing the world over!

  4. Can anybody pick up them anywhere? As in Finland you are able to pick up blueberries, cranberries and so on anywhere.

  7. Love blackberries. We're hoping for a seasonal change soon. It's still very hot here, but the nights are a bit cooler which is a good sign. Of course, Florida is supposed to be hot so I shouldn't complain.

  8. I can't recall trying blackberries. Here fall seems to have settled in- some relatively warm days, but the early mornings and evenings are very cool.

  9. It reminds me of the blackberry picking I did with my mum and sister along the hedgerows in my childhood. Your photo is lovely, thank you for the lovely memories it evokes :)

  12. Is there anything sweeter than a freshly picked blackberry? And the late ones are the sweetest of all :-)
