Dike and Dollard

Our hike yesterday went partly along the Dollard, a bay in the Wadden Sea which forms the border between the (northern part of the) Netherlands and Germany. Most of it dries at low tide, which was obviously the case when we were there.

Lots of sheep on the dike and at some points we had to zigzag between their droppings ;)

I'm linking to All Seasons.

  1. The tide is a long way out there Marleen! You watch out for sheep droppings on your walks, I look out for kangaroo droppings 😀

  2. That is so interesting...it's not an ocean view we see here at all. Very different. Love those chubby sheep, but I guess they are messy, like ducks? It seems to me I read recently how your country uses windmills to produce almost all of the energy you need. Is that correct?

    1. Switching to green energy is a hot topic in our country, also because of the earth quakes in the north of the Netherlands caused by the production of natural gas - an area not so far from where these photos were taken. But still a lot needs to be done!

  3. It looks like quite a setting for a stroll, as long as one avoids any sheep droppings!
