The
Sassenpoort (Sassen Gate) is the only left gatehouse in the city wall of Zwolle. It was built in 1409 from 101,000 stones, and by its size the wealth of the city was shown. At the end of the 19th century the gatehouse was renovated and became an important Dutch heritage site.
It looks more like a small castle than a gatehouse!
