Kos Island, Greece (2013)
Even though several cruise ships were still arriving at Kos Island each day, most tourist were gone in mid October when this photo was taken. No doubt these ticket boots, selling tickets for (day) trips to Bodrum in nearby Turkey, know busier days in the Summer season.
Enjoy your weekend!

Athens, Greece (2010)
Most likely visiting the Temple of Olympian Zeus (also known as the Olympieion) on her own, this lady took her time to make a selfie with the ruins in the background.

Delphi, Greece (2010)
When we visited Athens in November 2010 we made a day-trip by bus to the archaeological site as well as the museum of Delphi. With a number of myths dating from the classical period of ancient Greece (510-323 BC), the site is probably best known for the oracle at the sanctuary that was dedicated to Apollo.
I made this picture just before we left for Athens again at the end of the afternoon, viewing the village of Delphi located on mount Parnassus.

Athens, Greece (2010)
This is the renovated Attalosstoa, nowadays next to the modern Agora Museum. A long time ago the local people of Athens came to this place to shop for their daily goods. It is located on a park-like area in the centre of the city, next to a large open square with government buildings around.

Athens, Greece (2010)
I don't really know why, but for some reason I do not take many photo's at night. This however is one of the rare occassions that I did :) The rooftop terrace of our hotel in Athens was not only a great place to sit and have a drink after a day of sightseeing, it also gave a magnificent view on the Acropolis.

patterns
These are a few examples of the mosaic floors we saw on the Greek islands Kos and Nisyros, last October.
Imagine the many hours this must have taken to put all the thousands of small stones into place.. Impressive, don't you agree?

Greek stray cats
Again some photo's from Greece, the last ones (for now). When we visited Athens a few years ago we were amazed by the many stray dogs, here on the island Kos it was all about cats. They were literally everywhere. Sometimes sad and not looking so healthy, but others ones seemed to do fine.
This one seemed to say: please take me home?

Another one was looking phlegmatic..

Een andere keek onverstoorbaar voor zich uit..
..and these two were lying cozy together on a chair.

blue and white
Blue and white are the colors from Greece. Not only in the national flag, but everywhere: houses, doors, windows, and this sign for instance that we noticed upon arrival by boat on the island of Nisyros.

what is this?
We found this creature sized 10-12 cm (0,33 to 0,39 ft) on the roof of our rental car one day last week in Greece. Our first thought was a grasshopper, but then decided that grasshoppers don't have a pointed head like this one. Do they? What do you think this is?

Toch? Heb jij enig idee?

tree face
We said goodbye today to sunny Greece this morning and have arrived back home again, yet there are still a number of photo's I'd like to show you. Like this piece of art on a wall in the centre of Kos city.
