Obviously the conditions for paragliding and hang gliding were very good on (or should I say 'above') the island of Lanzarote, as we spotted them frequently. This photo was taken from the viewpoint at Mirador del Rio..
..and here we witnessed a landing at Famara Beach.

Photo taken earlier this week while driving towards Stadskanaal. A few minutes later it started to rain. For more skies around the globe please visit Skywatch Friday.

Blue skies
This photo was taken more or less from the same spot as yesterday's photo, I just turned 90° :)
Wide farmlands like these are a common view in the province of Groningen. The lined trees on the left guide the road in the direction of the village of Noordbroek.
With the many grey days we are having lately, last Sunday was one of the rare days with a clear sky and sun! One to enjoy :) I'm linking to Skywatch Friday.

The country side between the villages of Borger and Bronneger, not so far from where we live. A photo from last Sunday.

Lange Jaap lighthouse
View on Huisduinen, a small village near Den Helder at the point where the North Sea becomes the Wadden Sea. Across the water in the distance is the island of Texel. The lighthouse is called "Lange Jaap"("Long James"), a cast iron tower constructed in 1822. At a height of 55 m it is one of the tallest traditional lighthouses in the world.

Callantsoog beach
At the North Sea beach near the village of Callantsoog last weekend. Dark skies behind us but we were lucky to see the clouds pass us without rain :)

Oslo Opera House: on the roof
As I mentioned yesterday the Opera House is located at the end of the Oslo Fjord. A little more to the left was the StenaLine quay from which our ferry would depart later that day.
Dark clouds! It was still dry here though it started to rain later that afternoon.
Let's have a look inside the Opera House tomorrow.

On top of the Nevelfjell
From our cabin in Nordseter (15km from the city of Lillehammer) we followed a hiking trail to the top of the Nevelfjell. With an altitude of 1089 m it is the highest peak in the municipality of Lillehammer.

Dutch Summer
This is the kind of weather we are having lately: a mixture of sunshine, clouds, rain showers, an occasional thunder storm, and (most of the time) comfortable temperatures - a typical Dutch Summer I'd say :)
Photo taken near the village of Ter Apel, near the German border.

Zandhazenbrug
On our way to and back from the North Sea coast, earlier this month, we crossed the new Zandhazenbrug near the town of Muiderberg. The name of the bridge refers to an old nickname of the residents of Muiderberg, apparently they were called 'zandhazen' (lit: 'sand hares'), a name soldiers in the army sometimes get.
The bridge is a railway bridge with a span length of 255 m, and is in use since August 2016. It is part of the Weesp-Lelystad railway, known as the Flevolijn.

Doris
No, it's neither a drone nor a spaceship.. it's the anemometer measuring the speed of wind on top of our garage roof yesterday afternoon at the time storm "Doris" passed us. To be honest I didn't know our storms were given names, but as it arrived from the U.K. and apparently was called Doris there, it stayed Doris here :)
We don't live near the coast and it was (only) force 7 here, but at the North Sea coast people had to deal with force 9 or 10 and dangerous conditions like heavy wind gusts.
And it rained a lot as well. This photo was taken through an upstairs window towards the line of trees at the back of our garden.
