The entrance of the
Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede, that was founded through the initiative of the Twenthe textile baron Jan Bernard van Heek, who wanted to have his painting collection housed in a new state museum in Enschede. In 1930 the museum was opened at the Lasondersingel.
Leuk gebouw, een klein kasteeltje met die torentjes.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt is a eye catcher... including the large boulder out front.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA beautiful building! Like Andy, I couldn't help but notice the large boulder... does it have engravings on it?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell seen, Christine! But to know what it says we will have to wait for my next visit, as I didn't take a picture of it..:)
Verwijderen...and how did that rock get there?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHi Tom, I wonder too!
VerwijderenWhat's the rock for...to keep terrorists from driving into the building?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTremendously appealing architecture, Marleen!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThere's a boulder on our Gallery grounds that has been inscribed, but I've never taken a close shot of it.
A beautiful building. I also wondered how the rock got there, it is definitely an eye catcher.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenImagine having such a collection of art that it needed its own space.. I'd love it 😀😀 I'm as curious as everyone as to the huge rock Marleen, you're going to have to go back ☺
