Fascinating. It appears that the lower levels and the upper levels are living areas. This arrangement was/is common in some of our larger cities, and often the owners of the businesses live above their shops.
Hi again, Marleen. Re your comment on Ocala: This is an anhinga, which is closely related to the cormorant. The differences are minor but I can't remember them now. I don't think we have very many cormorants down this far south.
